    • PURPOSE:To reduce the overcurrent proof of a semiconductor device by providing a self-extinction of arc-type semiconductor device in series with a separately excited inverter arm or an inverter for rapidly breaking a DC short-circuit current at the time of commutation failure. CONSTITUTION:AC power 1 is rectified by a bridge composed of a thyristor 2 and a GTO thyristor 3, converted into AC by an inverter 8 after smoothing, and supplied to an induction motor 9. At the time of a braking operation of said induction motor 9, a driving switch 4 is OFF and a braking switch 5 is ON, and said thyristor 2 and GTO thyristor 3 operate as inverter. When said power 1 is lost at said braking time, the GTO 3 conducts a braking operation by a GTO control circuit 12, and if the voltage across the ends of a reactor 6 goes to excess, a thyristor 10 is ON by a firing circuit 11 and an overvoltage is prevented from spreading to a converter.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate a restart of power supply at the time of power failure by taking out a control power from the power source side of a current type inverter and from the load side of a DC reactor and by supplying said power from any one of said sides. CONSTITUTION:A current type inverter is formed by a converter 3 having a thyristor constitution, a DC reactor 4 and a diode to be used as a current source, and an inverter 5 composed of transistor, and AC power is supplied from an AC power source 2 to said inverter to supply a load 6 with a specified AC power. Further, a short-circuit thyristor 7 is connected with a DC intermediate circuit in parallel with said inverter 5 to be short-circuited at an abnormal time. In this case, a control power is taken out not only from the AC power source 2 via transformer 11 but also from AC outputted by the inverter 5 via transformer 21 to be in putted to a power selector circuit 22. Thus, even if the AC power 2 is OFF, said inverter 5 continues to output power, which is then sent to a control power circuit 12.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress an increase of a DC circuit voltage at time of regenerative action by actuating a DC circuit voltage on an inverter and correcting an inverter frequency based on the said detection in such direction that an electric motor slip may be minimized. CONSTITUTION:When an induction motor 2 is driven by means of a voltage on a DC circuit 1-D for an inverter is detected by a detection means 3 consisting of a proportional integrator which integrates a differential between the said voltage and a reference voltage. Then an output from the said detection means is input to a correction means 4 consisting of an adder which adds a frequency command value and an output voltage of the detection means 3, controlling a frequency for the inverter 1 through a voltage-frequency converter 5. Consequently, it is possible to minimize a slip of an electric motor 2 through the increasing of an interver frequency when a voltage has increased following the return of a regenerative power to DC circuit 1-D side at time of a regenerative action. Thus an overvoltage can be prevented effectively.

    • PURPOSE:To improve a transient responsiveness at the time of power supply interruption and to reduce the size and weight of a whole uninterruptible power source by connecting a backup battery through a 3-winding transformer and a power reactor/inverter between an inverter and smoothing means. CONSTITUTION:A commercial power supply 1 is input to a first power converter (inverter) 20 for converting to an AC having predetermined voltage and frequency, and the conversion output is input through the primary and secondary sides of a 3-winding transformer 30 to a second power smoothing unit 44. A battery 10 is connected through a power reactor/inverter 50 to the tertiary winding 33 of the transformer 30. The phase angle of a switching element of the reactor/inverter 50 is controlled by a controller provided separately to charge the battery 10 when the power supply 1 is normal, and power is supplied from the battery 10 to a load 60 at the time of power interruption.
