SOLUTION: By using map data for a navigation conducting route guidance, a control range and a control mode specially requiring light distribution control are registered together. When a vehicle is detected to enter the registered control range, light distribution control by the control mode registered corresponding to the control range is carried out. The control mode carrying out light distribution control can be selected from a first control mode changing to a laterally wide irradiating range suitable for a housing development and the like wherein many pedestrians exist and superior in pedestrian finding performance, a second control mode suitable for a road that is dark day and night such as a woodland path and automatically tuning on a light, and a third control mode suitable for a parking lot and the like and carrying out control in consideration of opposite vehicles/pedestrians by putting emphasis on lighting right and left with suppressing a light in a back-and-forth direction unnecessary during parking the vehicle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for enabling a vehicle to travel at night in accordance with traveling environments. SOLUTION: Various traveling environments of a vehicle are detected through map data of a car navigation system, a GPS receiver, various sensors, a VICS receiver, a DSRC receiver, an image camera, etc., and a degree of bend in a road, situations of an intersection, accidents, total traffic quantity, the class of a traveling area, the class of a traveling road, weather, road situations, and other traveling environments are grasped based on them. Need for support related to traveling of the vehicle is determined based on these, and a group of lamps, alarm giving devices, power transmission systems, brake systems, and steering systems are controlled in accordance with the need for support. For determination of the need for support, its level is determined based on keys of traveling environment information using reference tables, the level is determined using variables of the traveling environment information to be substituted in equations to determine the value, or a correct traveling speed limit is once determined based on the traveling environment information to be compared with a current speed of the vehicle to determine the level.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light distribution control device enabling a driver to easily find a route change point guided by a navigating device. SOLUTION: A navigation processing portion 11 searches a traveling route to a destination, and determines a route change point such as a junction point of an intersection from the traveling route and a detected vehicular present position. When the vehicle achieves a specified distance M in the upstream side from the route change point, a head lamp device is controlled to irradiate a guiding direction at the junction point. When irradiating the guiding direction, controlling is conducted by a mode selected by a user from a first mode expanding an irradiating range in a route change direction in addition to an normal irradiating range, a second mode executing the first mode at a dark place without a streetlamp, and a third mode changing an irradiating direction in the route change direction. If the user does not select the mode, the first mode is selected as a default value.
