    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasifier whereby valuable metals can be simply recovered from composite material articles such as waste household electric appliances, and iron or copper of good purity can be recovered at high efficiency. SOLUTION: There is provided a gasifier for gasifying the combustibles in an article 2 composed of a composite material containing a plastic and a metal in an oxygen-free or low-oxygen high-temperature atmosphere after or without crushing the article 2, wherein low-air-radio burners 3 and 4 used to burn part of the gases produced as a result of the gasification of the article in the gasifier in a reducing atmosphere are provided on the top and/or bottom of the gasifier 1. Each burner is suitably one having an ejector structure which sucks the gases formed as a result of the gasification by the action of sucked combustion air or has a structure in which the tar 8 accumulated on the bottom of the gasifier can be burned in a low air ratio or a structure in which the tar is burned in such a manner that the waste gasses 9 formed when the gases formed as a result of the gasification in the gasifier is burned or air is blown into the tar.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the economically and simply gasification treating method of the composite material waste which has high contents of a recovered iron and copper by effectively using a self-generating heat. SOLUTION: In the gasification treating method in which the composite material waste containing plastics and metals is gasified while being divided in plural numbers and moved successively and intermittently in a gasifying chamber 1, plural chambers 6-11 which are isolated from the gasification chamber are provided before and after the gasification chamber 1 in order to prevent an oxygen-rich gas and a low temp. gas from an outside of the gasification chamber from going into the gasification chamber 1 at the time of carrying out the waste from the gasification chamber and carrying the waste into the gasification chamber, and in the chambers adjacent to the gasification chamber 1, a combustion waste gas deficient in oxygen or an inert gas is blown before the chambers are made open to keep the chambers under low oxygen and high temp. condition preferably, and a fresh air is blown preferably in the outmost chamber before the chambers are made open at the time of carrying out the waste from the gasification chamber and carrying the waste into the gasification chamber.
