    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture medium for cultivation having no need of labor and funds for heating, or sterilization/pasteurization using chemicals, and causing no wastes and continuous cropping injuries. SOLUTION: The culture medium for cultivation comprises pumice having 6-50 molar equivalent ratio of an exchangeable cation (Ca+Mg)/K, and having rooting-zone microorganisms. The pumice comprises granules each having a granular diameter of 1.0-5.6 mm and a porous surface, and preferably has a cation exchange capacity of 3.0-4.0 meq/100 g. And also, the pumica preferably has a lot of rhizosphere microorganisms sufficient to inhibit bacterial wilt from causing on plants, has a saturated hydraulic conductivity of 0.3-0.8 cm/sec, and preferably comprises granules having a ventilation coefficient of 15-40 cm/sec in a dried sample and wet sample.
