摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take up a seat belt with a taking-up load and in a taking-up manner so that an occupant does not feel uncomfortable as much as possible, and moreover the occupant is protected in an emergency of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A seat belt device is equipped with an electric motor 20 taking up the seat belt 12, and a microcomputer 30 controlling the electric motor 20. When the microcomputer 30 predicts the collision by using a detection distance and a detection vehicle speed with a distance sensor 41 and a vehicle speed sensor 42 respectively, the microcomputer 30 controls the electric motors 20 so as to take up the seat belt 12 with the taking-up load rising up to the first taking-up load with the first rising gradient. When the microcomputer 30 detects a sudden brake operation with a detection signal from a brake switch 43, the microcomputer controls the electric motor 20 so as to take up the seat belt 12 with the taking-up load rising up to the second take-up load larger than the first taking-up load with the second rising gradient larger than the first rising gradient. The inward expansion air bag 64 is supported by a side wall part 24A of the outer side frame 24 from the outside in the vehicle width direction while being supported by a rear wall part 24B of the outer side frame 24 from the vehicular rear side. Thus, the spine V of the crewman P having a high resistance value can be early and effectively restrained by the inward expansion air bag 64.
