    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform multiplex processing of optical information when recording and reproducing optical information using a reference beam and a signal beam of a coaxial optical system. SOLUTION: The optical information recording apparatus comprises: a light source 100; a light modulator 130; a lens 180; and an optical information storage medium 190. The light source 100 emits light. The light modulator 130 superposes the signal beam and reference beam on the light emitted from the light source 100. The lens 180 makes the signal beam and the reference beam cross each other on the optical information storage medium. A hologram is recorded in the optical information storage medium 190 by means of interference between the signal beam and the reference beam. The hologram is reproduced by irradiating the optical information storage medium only with the reference beam. The light modulator 130 can superpose the reference beam according to reference beam patterns. The light modulator 130 includes various reference patterns which are not correlated with each other. Multiplex recording is carried out by changing the reference beam pattern to record the hologram.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory and reproducing apparatus for holography data capable of preventing the isolation 'on' or 'off' phenomenon arising in an arbitrary pixel and decreasing the errors arising during reproduction and a coding/decoding method for the holography data. SOLUTION: Data blocks of 2×2 formed by separating external input data to a plurality of groups respectively composed of 2-bit units in a recording (memory) mode, by having the 2-bit data of the respective groups as first lines and by having the 2-bit data formed by applying a binary differentiation system to the respective bits of the 2-bit data as second lines are recorded to a memory medium 119. The reproduced signals outputted from the memory medium 119 in a reproduction mode are separated to the data blocks of 2×2. The values of one line one row and two lines two rows of the data blocks of 2×2 are then compared and the one line two rows and the two rows one line are compared and are decoded to the data of the 2-bits, by which the isolation 'on' or 'off' phenomenon in the arbitrary pixel can be prevented.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for compensating wobble in a storage medium in a holographic digital data storage system. SOLUTION: The holographic digital data storage apparatus comprises a beam generator and a determining means and detects the wobble in the storage medium. The disk includes therein one or more holographically generated patterns. A beam generator projects at least two wobble detection beams to the holographically generated patterns. The wobble detection beams have different diffraction efficiencies provided at respective characteristic angles, wherein each characteristic angle is an angle between an optical path of one wobble detection beam and that of its corresponding pattern forming beam used in forming one of the holographically generated patterns and a diffraction efficiency is given by a ratio of a power of a diffracted beam of one of the wobble detection beams.
