    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjusting device which can be machined with high accuracy by a simple structure. SOLUTION: In a shoe housing 3, a circumferential wall 4 and a front plate 5 are integrally formed by aluminum die-cast, and at the same time, distortion absorbing holes 42 are formed in respective shoes 3a, 3b, 3c. Also, a sectorial space part 40 which is partitioned by the shoes 3a, 3b, 3c and in which a vane is rotatively stored, is formed in the shoe housing 3. Arched cross sectional recessed parts 50 are axially formed in the peripheral walls of the shoes 3a, 3b, 3c, and clamp seats 51 are formed on a front plate 5 side. When the clamp seats 51 are pushed and pressed by pulling claws 52, the sides of the clamp seats 51 further peripheries from the distortion absorbing holes 42 are elastically deformed, however, the sides thereof further inner circumferentials from the distortion absorbing holes 42 are hardly deformed. Therefore, the machining accuracy of the surface to be machined of the shoe housing 3 which exerts influence on sealed properties and sliding abrasion between members, can be improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and easily workable valve timing control device. SOLUTION: Each vane of a vane rotor 15 is relatively turnably accommodated in an accommodating chamber 50 formed between each of shoes of a shoe housing 12. A sealing member 25 is fitted to a recessed part formed in vanes 15a, 15b, 15c, 15d. A sealing member 26 is fitted to a projecting part formed on an inner peripheral side of shoes 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d. Micro clearance is provided between an outer peripheral wall of the vane rotor 15 and an inner peripheral of the shoe housing 12, and the sealing members 25, 26 prevent leakage of hydraulic fluid between hydraulic chambers through the clearance. Since the sealing member 26 is fitted to each shoe even the valve timing control device is miniaturized and width of each shoe in rotating direction becomes narrow, the sealing member 26 always slides on an outer peripheral surface of a boss part 15f. The leakage of the hydraulic fluid can be thereby prevented between the hydraulic chambers.

SOLUTION: Each vane of a vane rotor 15 is relatively turnably accommodated in an accommodating chamber 50 formed between each of shoes of a shoe housing 12. A sealing member 25 is fitted to a recessed part formed in vanes 15a, 15b, 15c, 15d, and a sealing member 26 is fitted to a recessed part formed on an inner peripheral side of shoes 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d. Micro clearance is provided between an outer peripheral wall of the vane rotor 15 and an inner peripheral wall of the shoe housing 12, and the sealing members 25, 26 prevent leakage of hydraulic fluid between hydraulic chambers through the clearance. Since a sliding surface of the sealing member 26, sliding on an outer peripheral surface of a boss part 15f of the vane rotor 15 formed in a convex surface, is formed in a concave surface, the sealing member 26 is prevented from being inclined by sliding resistance.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve-timing adjusting device which is of simple construction, and which is capable of being machined with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A peripheral wall 4 of a shoe-housing 3 is formed integral with a front plate 5. The outside diameter L1 of the peripheral wall 4 on the front plate 5 side is larger than the outer diameter L2 on the anti-front plate side. The front plate 5 has a trace of gate cut at the corner part 50 on the peripheral wall 4 side, which is formed at the manufacturing time. Thus, defective seal due to chipping at the time of gate cut, can be prevented. Further, the inside diameter-wall surface of one side wall of a raw material can be machined on the reference of the outer wall face of the peripheral wall of the raw material, and after that, the outer wall face of the peripheral wall of the raw material or the inner peripheral wall face of the peripheral wall of the raw material after machining, the inner wall face of one side wall of the raw material, and the end face of an opening on the other side wall of the peripheral wall of the raw material, can be machined. Thus, the sealing property or the machining accuracy of the surface to be machined of the housing members, which has effects on the sliding wear between the members, is improved.
