    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a tunnel having an arc-shaped cross section via the use of arc-shaped segments of the same shape by applying the constitution that a connecting segment laid between adjacent arc-shaped segments of a tunnel having an arc-shaped cross section is formed to have a larger cross section at external surface than at internal surface. SOLUTION: Three rows of shafts are drilled from the ground. The side wall 52 of a tunnel body structure and a center pillar 53 are erected and the shafts are back filled. A tunnel 21 having an arc-shaped cross section is excavated with an underground excavator 20 so as to connect the upper side between the side wall 52 and the center pillar 53. Then, an arc-shaped segment 41, an upper connecting segment and a lower connecting segment are combined for erecting a pillar segments 46, thereby constructing the tunnel 21 having a circular arc cross section. Thus tunnel 21 has a different curvature between an inner peripheral part and an outer peripheral part and each arc-shaped segment 41 can be formed to have the same shape, when the upper connecting segments is made larger than the lower connecting segment. Internal space is excavated using the constructed top plate, side wall 52 and center pillar 53 as timbering, thereby constructing a tunnel having a large cross section.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a cutter driving unit by providing a crank in a rear end of a rotary driving body of a cutter unit, and fitting a connecting plate to the periphery of the rear end of the crank, and rotating the rotary driving body with plural fluid pressure jacks. SOLUTION: A rotary driving body 7 of a cutter unit 6 is supported freely to be rotated by a bearing 5 provided in a bulk head 3. A cutter spoke 8 is integrally fitted to a front end of the rotary driving body 7. A cutter driving unit 10 is provided with a crank 11, a connector 11 and plural fluid pressure jacks 18a, 18b, 18c. The crank 11 uses the rotary driving body 7 as a crank shaft, and a crank pin 13 is provided with a deviation by a deviation distance (e). A connecting plate 14 is provided in the periphery of the crank pin 13 freely to be rotated. The fluid pressure jacks 18a-18c are driven so as to push the crank pin 13 through the connecting plate 14, and the rotary driving body 7 is rotated so as to rotate the cutter 6. Structure of the device is thereby simplified without using parts requiring high accuracy such as a pinion and a gear.
