SOLUTION: The superconductive thin film wire rod includes: an intermediate layer laminated on a substrate; and a thin film layer which is laminated on the intermediate layer and composed of a rare earth oxide superconductor RE-Ba-Cu-O (in the formula, RE is selected one or two or more from rare earth elements (La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Y, and Yb)). In the thin film layer, the composition ratio of Ba and Cu is reduced as the separation distance from the intermediate layer increases, and the composition ratio of the rare earth elements relatively increases. By this structure, in the oxide superconductive wire rod, even when the thickness of the superconductive thin film increases, reduction of the critical current density can be suppressed without increasing the temperature. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the textured substrate for epitaxial film formation having textured metallic layer at least on one side, of which the surface is provided with an orientation-improved layer consisting of a metallic thin film and having the thickness of 1-5,000 nm, wherein the difference between the degree of orientation (Δϕ and Δω) on the surface of the textured metallic layer and the degree of orientation (Δϕ and Δω) on the orientation-improved layer is 0.1-3.0°. Other metal than the metal constituting the orientation-improved layer of the textured substrate is added by the film thickness of ≤30 nm, and subjected to the heat treatment to improve the smoothness of its surface.
