摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel cathode catalyst for a solid polymer fuel battery, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The cathode catalyst for a solid polymer fuel battery has a catalyst metal supported by a highly crystallized carbon carrier. The catalyst metal supported by the carbon carrier has a normalized dispersion degree of 30% or less, and BET specific surface area of the carbon before the supporting is 50-600 m/g. The method of manufacturing the cathode catalyst comprises the steps of: thermally processing highly crystallized carbon at a temperature of 1000-1600°C under a hydrogen atmosphere; and having the highly crystallized carbon support the catalyst metal.
