    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of long operation time and cut-off of a shifted position, caused by dislocation or the like of a manuscript, from a desired region when crop processing is performed by two times of read operations, and to solve a problem of need of a frame memory for storing an image which has read the whole manuscript table when crop processing is performed by one time read operation.
      SOLUTION: An image which has read the whole manuscript table is stored for every band, and the manuscript region is detected in the band. If two or more memorized bands contain the manuscript image as a result of memorizing two or more bands, the manuscript image is cut out. In this way, the band which does not contain the manuscript region is unnecessary to be memorized or the region out of the manuscript region within the band is unnecessary to be memorized, so the crop processing by one time read operation can be performed while restricting the memory capacity as compared with a conventional case.
