    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve picture quality by performing correction processing for an image with higher precision. SOLUTION: Disclosed is an image processor which performs the correction processing for the image including target pixels to be processed. The image processor extracts an image area of predetermined size including the target pixels to be processed. Then the image processor calculates a variation quantity relating to the image area from signal values of pixels included in the image area. Further, the image processor calculates the number of times of variation in the image area from the signal values of the pixels included in the image area. Furthermore, the image processor finds correction extents Fz1, Fz2, and Fe from the number of times of variation and the variation quantity by using a setting means of setting correspondence relation among the number of times of variation, the variation quantity, and correction extents, and performs correction processing for signal values of the target pixels to be processed with the found correction extents. Here, the setting means sets the correspondence relation so that the correction extents Fz1, Fz2, and Fe gradually vary with different numbers of times of variation and variation quantities.
