    • PURPOSE:To constitute the magnetooptic disk device flatly to small size at low cost. CONSTITUTION:The magnetooptic disk device equipped with a bias magnetic field applying means is provided with a main body 1 which has a couple of bearing parts, a bias magnetic field application part 3 which is divided into plural parts along the rotary shaft at the bearing parts and consists of a two- pole magnetized permanent magnet, and permanent magnets 4 which are divided into four along the rotary shaft and magnetized to have two magnetic poles integrally at both end parts of a bias magnetic field generation part. Further, the rotor part of a driving means which applies a turning force to the bias magnetic field application part is formed and a closed magnetic circuit is formed between the different magnetic poles of the rotor part; and a flat coil 9 is provided and a couple of flat plate type yoke parts 7 and 9 of the driving means which produce a revolving magnetic field are provided on the main body 1 opposite each other to constitute the device flatly.

    • PURPOSE:To switch an N-pole and an S-pole at high speed and highly precisely, and to speed up recording to a magneto-optical disk by using a permanent magnet to impressing a bias magnetic field also as the rotor of a stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:The permanent magnet 2 is used also as the rotor of the stepping motor 4. Namely, in the case that various kinds of information are recorded in the magneto-optical disk 1, the permanent magnet 2 is rotated gradually one step by one step similarly to the rotor of the stepping motor 4 by controlling the supply of a current to each coil 7, 8 by a drive circuit 9. Then, the N-pole or the S-pole of the permanent magnet 2 is stopped selectively in a state that it faces to the recording surface 1a of the magneto-optical disk 1, and the recording surface 1a is irradiated by laser light from a laser light generating device, and the prescribed recording is executed. Thus, the high-speed and highly precise switching of the N-pole and the S-pole is attained, and the recording to the magneto-optical disk is speeded up.
