    • PURPOSE:To execute a tracking control with high accuracy by calculating a sample holding output difference which is formed based on a detection of a reflected light by a preformat part and its just before pre-group part and detecting a track shift. CONSTITUTION:A first signal level extracting means 6 extracts an average output level of a tracking error signal when an optical spot is radiating a prescribed position of a preformat part. Also, a second signal level extracting means 7 extracts an output level of an error signal when the spot is radiating a pre-group part just before the preformat part. When a track shift is generated, a difference is generated in this output level, a track shift detecting means 8 calculates a difference of the output level, and by its difference output, an off-track quantity and its direction are detected and displayed. In such a way, an optical axis shift is monitored easily, and an alignment can be executed with high accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To attain a track access without optical axis deviation by adopting a constitution so that a 1st actuator and a 2nd actuator are combined so as to allow an optical beam incident on a reflecting mirror via a scanning mirror to pass through the rear focus of the objective lens. CONSTITUTION:The titled actuator consists of the 1st actuator incorporating a means detecting the drive quantity of an objective lens 3 and the 2nd actuator 2 comparing the track access quantity (a) (drive quantity of objective lens) of the 1st actuator with a track access quantity (b) (turning quantity of reflecting face) of the 2nd actuator itself and moving in a way that the ratio (a/b) is always constant. That is, the 2nd actuator 2 compares the track access quantity (b) of itself with a value Ka being the multiplication of a constant K deciding the interlocking ratio of both the actuators wit the track access quantity (a) of the 1st actuator 1 and moves so that the ratio (a/b) is always constant. Thus, the optical axis of the light beam 7 passes through the rear focus of the objective lens 3 at all times.
