    • PURPOSE:To obtain the glass plate simultaneously provided with both a water- repelling property and an UV light. IR light-absorbing property by forming a water-repelling thin film on one side of a transparent substrate and forming an UV light. IR light-absorbing thin film and subsequently a protecting thin film on the other side. CONSTITUTION:A water-repelling film 3 comprising a water-repelling agent containing at least e.g. a silicon isocyanate compound and a fluoroalkylsilane compound is formed on one side of a glass substrate 2. A synthetic resin primer coating solution containing a fluorescent brightener, an UV light absorbent and an IR light absorbent is coated on the other side of the substrate 2, and subsequently thermally cured to form an UV light. IR light-absorbing thin film 4. A silicone hard coating solution produced by dissolving a siloxane prepolymer in an organic solvent is coated on the the formed thin film 4, and subsequently thermally cured to form a protecting thin film 5. Thereby, the transparent grass plate excellent in water repellency, shielding the UV light. IR light, good in the heat ray-absorbing performance, and excellent in durability such as adhesivity, chemical resistance and abrasion resistance is obtained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for forming a functional coating film uniformly by applying a fluid liquid to the glass surface having a picture-frame-like black frame.
      SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a glass substrate having a functional coating film has a process of applying a fluid liquid of a viscosity of ≥2 mPa. s to the surface on the black frame side of a glass substrate having a picture-frame-like black frame of a thickness of 5-35 μm to form a functional coating film transmittable to visible light. When the fluid liquid is applied, a masking tape is stuck to the black frame so that the combined thickness of the black frame and the masking frame is equal to or thinner than three times that of the central part of the coating film, leading to the formation of a liquid reservoir of a thickness 0.9-1.1 times the combined thickness of the black frame and the masking tape in the contact part of the masking tape.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect human skin and dyes and to suppress the deterioration and color fading of articles, more particularly organic articles by further imparting UV shieldability to double layer glass which retains antidazzle and privacy characteristics without loss in spite of exposure to water, hardly picks up dust and does not require frequent cleaning. SOLUTION: The double layer glass, which is formed by spatially arranging glass sheets 2 and 3 in parallel, interposing spacers housing moisture absorbents in their peripheral edges and integrating these glass sheets and has a hermetic space, has a rough surface forming layer consisting of low melting glass scattered with ceramic powder on the hermetic space side of the at least one glass sheet. The haze value of the at least one glass sheet is specified to >=60% and the visible ray transmittance of the double layer glass to >=60%. Further, the UV absorbatility is imparted to the rough surface forming layer, or a UV absorption layer 4a is superposed thereon.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ultraviolet absorbing colored glass plate improved in weather resistance in a state enlarged in a long wavelength ultraviolet light- absorbing force by coating the surface of a transparent glass substrate with a silicon primer coating solution containing a fluorescent brightening agent, a ultraviolet light absorbent and a metal chelate compound and subsequently curing the coated solution to form a ultraviolet absorbing colored film. SOLUTION: The fluorescent brightening agent absorb light in a ultraviolet light region, generates fluorescent light in a visible light region, can be dissolved in a silicon primer coating solution, is thermally not denaturated on the thermal curing of a coating film, is good in thermal stability, and has absorbing wavelengths at a place (400nm) near to the boundary between the ultraviolet light region and the visible light region. The coexisting ultraviolet absorbent includes a benzophenone ultraviolet absorbent and a benzotriazole ultraviolet adsorbent. The metal chelate compound is preferably a transtion metal chelate also useful for quenching the fluorescent brightening agent, and the stable chelate compound of Ni, Fe or Mn in the fourth period. The ligand of the chelate compound is preferably acetyl acetone, cyclohexyl butyrate, etc.
