摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce resistance caused by the rubbing of an elastic seal and a shutter around the toner discharge port of a toner cartridge and to prevent the turn-up of the elastic seal. SOLUTION: A plate member 12f3 is stuck to the elastic seal 12f5 around the toner discharge port 12f1, and a toner seal 12f2 is stuck to the member 12f3. When the seal 12f2 is broken before opening a shutter 12f4, the member 12f3 is brought into contact with the shutter 12f4 by the elastic force of the seal 12f5. The shutter 12f4 and the member 12f3 are rigid bodies and slide slightly. It is enough to prepare the small squeeze margin of the elastic seal.

SOLUTION: A developing device has: a developing sleeve 20YS for feeding a developer to an electrophotographic photoreceptor 15; a developer container 20b having an opening 38 from which to feed a toner to the developing sleeve 20YS; end seals 39 provided at each longitudinal end of the opening 38 in the developer container 20b and abutting against the outer peripheral surface of each end of the developing sleeve 20YS to prevent the leaking of the toner; and a sheet member 41 provided over approximately the entire longitudinal area of the lower part of the opening in the developer container 20b in such a way as to overlap a part of each end seal 39 and abutting against the surface of approximately the entire longitudinal area of the developing sleeve 20YS to prevent the leaking of the toner. In this case, an elastic member 42 is added to the lower part of the opening in the developer container 20b where the sheet member 41 is provided, in such a way that the elastic member 42 makes close contact with the end face of each end seal 39 facing an end face of the opening in the developer container. The elastic member 42 is made to overlap each end seal 39 as it is crushed by the sheet member 41.

The back seal 104 is constituted of three members, fine gaps are arranged in respective members so as to function as an air path for linking the inside of the developer container with the outside. The air path has a labyrinth constitution obtained by combining plural straight lines, and the air path is devised so that the developer may not leak outside the developer container when only the any one direction force is applied.

CONSTITUTION: The wiping member 17 is formed by bending as shown in figure, and while the wiping member 17 is wiping a transparent window 13a on an upper side, it is not allowed to come on the transparent window 13b on a lower side. Thus, load applied on a stirring mechanism is made to be half as compared with the time of simultaneously wiping the upper and lower transparent windows 13a and 13b. When the wiping member 17 moves in a reverse direction, it wipes only the transparent window 13b on the lower side, so that the load on the upper side is not applied. By this constitution, the load of the wiping member 17 received from the transparent windows 13a and 13b and the developer on the surface of a window is made to be nearly half.

When the process cartridge is fitted to the image forming device, the shutter is automatically opened and when the cartridge is removed, the shutter is automatically closed.
