    • PURPOSE:To stabilize sensitivity in repeated electrophotographic processes and to enable the retention of a high-grade image by forming a photosensitive layer contg. a phthalocyanine compd. subjected to filtration as a sulfuric acid soln. on an electric conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:A phthalocyanine compd. is dissolved once in sulfuric acid and the resulting soln. is filtered to remove impurities adsorbed on the phthalocyanine compd. and insoluble in the sulfuric acid. Concd. sulfuric acid having >=60wt.% concn. is preferably used as the sulfuric acid so as to dissolve the phthalocyanine compd. in a short time. A cylindrical or filmlike electric conductive substrate made of a metal such as Al or plastic with an electric conductive layer may be used as the electric conductive substrate of this sensitive body. This sensitive body is a laminate type one having an electric charge generating layer and an electric charge transferring layer or a single layer type one contg. an electric charge generating material and an electric charge transferring material in a mixed state. The purity of the phthalocyanine compd. is enhanced and much stabilized electrophotographic characteristics such as high sensitivity and low residual potential are obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To improve potential stability at the time of repeated use and sensitivity by incorporating at least one kind of compd. selected among specified tetrazaporphyrin derivs. and specified derivs. of metallic complex salts of tetrazaporphyrin into a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compd. selected among tetrazaporphyrin derivs. represented by formula I and derivs. of metallic complex salts of tetrazaporphyrin represented by formula II is incorporated into a photosensitive layer. In the formula I, X is H, a heavy hydrogen atom or an alkali metal atom and A is p or q (a shown residue in a caption of formula I) which may have a substituent. In the formula II, M is an atom of a metal other than Si and alkali metals, Y is halogen, hydroxyl, alkoxy or O and n is 0, 1 or 2. A film contg. a pigment represented by the formula I or II has photoconductivity and an electrophotographic sensitive body can be produced by forming a film of the pigment by vacuum deposition or by forming a film contg. the pigment dispersed in a proper binder. The sensitive body has high sensitivity and superior ootantial stability at the time of repeated use.

    • PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and potential stability of an electrophotographic sensitive body by incorporating a specified tetraaza porphyrin deriv. and a specified tetraaza porphyrin metal complex salt deriv. into an electrophotographic sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The title electrophotographic sensitive body contains at least one kind selected from a group consisting of a tetraaza porphyrin derivs. expressed by the formula I and tetraaza porphyrin metal complex salt derivs. expressed by the formula II. In the formulas I and II, X is an H atom, heavy hydrogen atom, or an alkali metal atom; A is a residue expressed by the formula III, which may have a substituent; M is an Si atom or a metal atom other than alkali metal atoms; Y is a halogen atom, OH group, alkoxy group, or an O atom; n is an integer zero, 1, or 2.
