Since this photoconductive compound has a large electron receptive space, it exhibits intermolecular mutual electric charge transfer action between an electron donative part and an electron receptive part in a crystalline state, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to be high in sensitivity and superior in potential stability even at the time of repeated uses.

The azo pigment having different coupler moieties represented by the formula 2 is synthesized as follows: 1mol tetrazonium salt is successively coupled with 1mol of one of couplers and 1mol of the other and the resulting product is diazotized, coupled with one of the couplers, hydrolyzed, diazotized again and coupled with the other.
