The housing body 1x has both a hollow thermally insulating intermediate chamber 26 formed between the pump room 11 of the relatively high temperature and the lubricating oil chamber 33 of the relatively low temperature, and a cooling passage 30 formed between the pump room 11 and the lubricating oil chamber 33, and passing a refrigerant.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistage dry-sealed vacuum pump in which even though inlet pressure of a gas to be evacuated is high, a high pumping-speed is maintained and low power-consumption can be achieved.
      SOLUTION: The multistage dry-sealed vacuum pump comprises an intermediate discharge pipe 30 of which one end is allowed to communicate with a discharge port 28 of a 3rd-stage pump chamber 10, and the other end is opened to the outside, and a check valve 32 which is provided midway in the intermediate discharge pipe 30, and has the atmospheric side as forward direction. In the case when suction pressure of the gas sucked from a main suction port 3 is comparatively high, e.g. discharge pressure of the 3rd-stage pump chamber 10 is higher than the atmospheric pressure, the check valve 32 is opened to release the pressure to the atmosphere from the intermediate discharge pipe 30. Thus, the suction pressure of a 4th-stage pump chamber 11 does not become higher than the atmospheric pressure. Consequently, even though the gas is sucked/discharged at a comparatively high suction pressure, the pumping speed is not decreased.
