    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the drag of a friction member from increasing in release of the clutch in which the pressing part of the friction member of a hydraulic servo piston is formed of a separable body. SOLUTION: The clutch device of an automatic transmission is provided with a piston 4 engaging the clutch by axially pressing the friction member 3 supported by a clutch drum 1 and a hub 2. The piston has an extention part 41 and a pressing part 42 separated from the part. The pressing part is supported at the extention part while regulating the movement to the axial both sides by an inside regulating means 41a provided at the side facing the friction member and an outside regulating means 43 provided at the opposite side. In this way, the pressing part 42 is prevented from coming into contact with the friction member even if the extention part 41 slants or widens in the diameter, the pressing part 42 is prevented from coming into contact with the friction member and hence, the increase of drag of the clutch in its release is avoided.
