    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam device and a metal die for press machine which can bring the following effects: prevention of an occurrence of linear contact on a cam engaging surface even if elastic deformation is generated in the cam; prevention of damage and wear due to sticking; processing under a high forming load applied by driven cams; and eventually reduction of installation space.
      SOLUTION: A spherical shallow recessed part 17 is formed on an inclined surface 15 at a bottom end of a driving cam 12 movable vertically. A convex-lens-shaped spherical shoe 18 is fitted so as to be swingable in the recessed part 17, which has a spherical surface to slide inside the recessed part and the other flat surface 20 to project from the inclined surface 15. The cam device 10 is composed by setting the flat surface 20 of the spherical shoe 18 into slide contact with the inclined surface 16 of the driven cam 14 which moves horizontally. Liners 21, 23 are provided in the slide parts. By symmetrically combining a plural sets of cam devices 10, the metal die for press machine is composed of punches 35 attached to the driven cams 14 and dies 41 installed on lower molds.
