    • PURPOSE:To apply an adhesive sheet of relatively large area on a board uniformly and effective H without requiring any troublesome means by providing a pressure roller, which moves while pressing an end holding means, a guide means and an adhesive sheet, and also a driving means which forces the pressure roller to make reciprocating motion. CONSTITUTION:First, a moving body 4 is moved to an initial position off from a board 14, namely, to the right side of the drawing, an adhesive sheet 15 previously cut in a length longer than that of the board 14 is set, its end portion is stripped off and the end portion of a stripped-off sheet 17 is nipped, fixed and held by the clip 19 of a bracket 18. While the moving body 4 is in this initial position, the shaft 20 of a pressure roller 8 is supported at the lowest position of a slotted hole 21. Thereafter, the pressure roller 8 rolls as it is pressed against the top surface of the board 14 from the back side of the adhesive paper 16 of the adhesive sheet 15 by means of an endless chain 13. During this action, the pressure roller 8 is pressed down only by its tare weight and no other strength is applied. Thus the pressure roller 8 rolls over the upper surface of the board uniformly without being given any unnecessary regulation force and the adhesive sheet 15 can be applied under a constant stable condition.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate separation of a platelike body from a sucking member by floating the platelike body from the sucking member, supplying water into a clearance between them, and releasing the suction of the platelike body. SOLUTION: In a glass plate separation device, when a glass plate 14 is conveyed to an inlet of the separation device 10 from an outlet of a polishing device, it is first pressed and held according to the order of pressing rollers 36, 36... of a first separation mechanism. At the same time, compressed air is jetted toward a boundary part 15 between the glass plate 14 and a suction pad 22 from air jet nozzles 64, 64... of the first separation mechanism 26 so that a left half part 14B of the glass plate 14 floats from the suction pad 22. Water droplets 67 are jetted from water injection nozzles 66, 66,... to make them adhere to the suction pad 22 and eliminate a sucking force of the suction pad 22 so that the left half part 14B of the glass plate 14 is separated from the suction pad 22. In the same way, the other right half part 14A thereof is separated by a second separation mechanism, and a whole face of the glass plate 14 is automatically separated from a polishing table 20.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce an abrasive margin and polish a large plate-shaped body by rotating adjacent roll-shaped pads in opposite directions to each other, and pressing them to the surface of the plate-shaped body for polishing while their axes are kept nearly perpendicular to the moving direction of the plate-shaped body. CONSTITUTION:A glass plate 90 on a surface plate 88 is moved in the perpendicular direction to the paper surface, a motor 70A is driven in the positive direction, a motor 70B is driven in the reverse direction, a motor 82 is driven, then urethane foam pads 40 of units 10A-10D are moved in the arrow A-A direction. Since the pads 40 are positively and reversely rotated in turn, rotating forces applied to the glass plate 90 are offset, the glass plate 90 can be smoothly moved, no abrasive liquid escapes from the pads 40, thus a sufficient abrasive effect can be obtained.
