    • PURPOSE: To enable high-speed cutting of a plate glass and prevent the quality of the plate glass from accuracy drop-off by detecting the pressing force of a cutter during line cutting processing of the plate glass and by controlling the vertical movement of the cutter so as to follow the asperities on the surface of the plate glass by a pressurizing means. CONSTITUTION: A cutter 38 brought into contact with the side of a plate glass 18 is moved and firmly pressed on the glass 18 to conduct a line cutting processing of the glass 18. During the process, the pressing force of the cutter 38 is detected in a real-time fashion with the detective part 24 of a piezoelectric element, displacement sensor, acceleration sensor, acoustic emission sensor or thermosensor. The pressing force is inputted via an amplifier 44 into a processing section 26 and compared with the standard value; based on the result, the vertical movement of the cutter 38 is set and then inputted into a control section 28 to actuate the linear motor, electric magnet or air cylinder of a pressurizing means 22 to vertically move the cutter 38 so as to follow the asperities on the surface of the plate glass 18, and a line cutting processing for the plate glass 18 is conducted by keeping the pressing force constant.

    • PURPOSE:To make chamfering of the inner and outer surfaces of a plate-shaped work and processing of it end face by setting the fast attaching force of a refrigerative chuck to a value which can generate fixation of the plate to a processing table when the processing takes place, and thereby pressing a tool to the inner or outer surface of the plate held on the processing table. CONSTITUTION:A liquid state medium 40 supplied to between a plate-shaped work 38 formed in a doughnut and a processing table 34 is solidified by a cooling means 32, and the plate 38 is held on the table 34 in the refrigerative chucked condition. A tool 36 is pressed to the inner or outer surface of the plate 38 in this condition, and chamfering of its inner surface and outer surface and also processing of the end face are performed. Therein the fast attaching force of the refrigerative chuck is set to a value which can generate fixation of the plate 38 to the processing table 34 when the plate 38 undergoes the processing.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the following performance of a cutter wheel taking advantage of castor effect and to maintain the cut face of a glass plate in sharp state by positioning the rotary axis of a cutter wheel at a position offset from the rotary axis of a cutter holder. CONSTITUTION:A glass plate 70 is placed on a table and an X-Y driving mechanism 2 to enable the driving of a carrier 6 in X-Y directions is placed above the table. The carrier 6 is provided with a cutting unit case 10 and a shaft 40 is rotatably supported by the cutting unit case 10. A cutter holder 56 is rotatably supported at the lower end of the shaft 40. A cutter wheel 60 is rotatably supported by the cutter holder 56 and the axis 60A of the rotary shaft of the cutter wheel 60 is placed in a state eccentric to and perpendicularly crossing with the rotary shaft axis 56B of the cutter holder 56. The glass plate 70 is cut in an arbitrary shape by pressing the cutter wheel 60 against the plate 70 and moving the wheel under rotation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably operate a pressure reducing device and a reduced-pressure defoaming device used in the process for clarifying such a molten material as molten glass and molten metal by providing a reduced-pressure defoaming tank, a means for reducing the pressure of the tank and a means for removing the volatiles in a high-temp. gas sucked by the pressure reducing means. SOLUTION: A reduced-pressure defoaming tank 12 for defoaming a high- temp. molten material, a vacuum pump 44 connected to the tank 12 through a pipeline and sucking the high-temp. gas in the tank 12 through the pipeline to evacuate the tank 12 and a condenser 46 provided for the pipeline and removing the volatiles in the high-temp. gas in the tank 12 evacuated by the pump 44 are provided for the subject system. Further, a dust collector 52 is furnished for the pipeline between the condenser 46 and the vacuum pump 44. The volatiles in the high-temp. gas generated from the tank 12 are cooled below their dew point by the condenser 46 and removed, and hence the pipelines 34A and 38A, or the like, are never plugged with the volatiles.
