SOLUTION: In the method of fixing a toner image formed on a recording material by bringing the image into contact with a heated fixing member, the resin in the toner used contains no THF insoluble content and has 15,000 to 45,000 weight average mol.wt. by GPC, 5 to 15 ratio of the weight average mol.wt. to the number average mol.wt., and 3 to 15 wt.% of the component having >=1×105 mol.wt. The device has a means to switch the gloss of the fixed image.

The toner is constituted by incorporating a colorant made of at least metallic material in binding resin, and the saturation magnetization of the toner is 0.01 to 0 emu/g, and true specific gravity thereof is 1.35 to 1.60 g/cm3.
