    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical repeater having a wavelength conversion function used in an optical transmission network with simple structure. SOLUTION: An optical repeater comprises a wavelength selection switch and at least one piece of wavelength conversion means. The wavelength selection switch comprises two or more of a plurality of input ports including an input port receiving signal light from a first optical transmission network and an input port receiving signal light from a second optical transmission network, and two or more of a plurality of output ports including an output port outputting signal light to the first optical transmission network and an output port outputting signal light to the second optical transmission network, and has a function outputting signal light of a wavelength optionally selected from two or more of a plurality of wavelengths via an optional output port. The wavelength conversion means is connected between the output ports and input ports of the wavelength selection switch, performs wavelength conversion processing on signal light output from the output port and inputs the processed signal light in the input port. Letting ΔT as a basic delay time difference, the delay time application means sets ΔT for the delay time difference between wavelength multiplex optical signals to which the divided optical signals are adjacent.
