    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon wire using a carbon filament with sufficiently low electric resistance such as CNT, and an assembled wire material using the carbon wire.SOLUTION: The production method of a carbon wire comprises a step (S20) of preparing an aggregate where a plurality of carbon filaments are in contact with each other; and a step (S30) of forming a graphite layer on the surface of the aggregate by bringing the surface of the aggregate into contact with liquid gallium. By performing such steps, a graphite layer can be formed by virtue of a catalytic action of the liquid gallium by bringing the part of carbon filament exposed on the surface in the aggregate into contact with liquid gallium. Thereby the graphite layer can be formed in a state of treatment temperature lower than a case of vapor-phase growing the graphite layer directly on the surface of the aggregate, to obtain the carbon wire.
