摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling a vehicle that reliably maintains parking condition of a vehicle, even if a phase of a parking mechanism is not detected. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: a driving force source capable of controlling each wheel torque separately; the parking mechanism provided in each of the wheels for braking the rotation of each wheel by performing engagement; and a phase detector for detecting a phase of each of the parking mechanisms. The apparatus engages each of the parking mechanisms so that each phase is brought into match with an engagement position of the parking mechanism, when parking. The apparatus includes a fail safe device (steps S1, S2, S3) that engages the parking mechanism on the occurrence of failure that the phase is not detected, by matching phase of a normal wheel, which is the companion wheel paired with the failed wheel, with a non-engagement position of the parking mechanism, and then matching phase of the wheel with an engagement position of the parking mechanism. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve miniaturization of a transmission unit in the direction of a rotation axis although the unit is provided with a transmission in which power is input through a plurality of input clutches. SOLUTION: A power split unit 14 is provided between an engine 10 and a first input shaft 28 of a transmission 16 in series with a clutch C1, that is, at an upstream side of the clutch C1. Thereby, since an input clutch is commonly used as one from the engine 10 to an electric torque converter 22, namely, the power split unit 14, and one to the transmission 16, clutches can be omitted in the direction of the rotation shaft center of the transmission 16. Therefore, the transmission 16 is downsized in the direction of the rotation shaft center and thus the transmission unit for a hybrid vehicle is downsized.
