    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cap member for centering for retaining the relative rotating positions of a hinge pin and a connection rod of a reclining device neutral from being affected by welding heat, etc. SOLUTION: In the reclining device, the hinge pin 16 is inserted into a tubular connection rod 26, and the hinge pin and the connecting rod are connected to each other in the centered state with the relative rotating positions retained neutral. Both hinge pin 16 and the connection rod 26 are polygonal so that the rotation can be transmitted. The tubular cap member 30 for centering is press-fitted into the outer circumference of an end of the connection rod. The cap member 30 has an insertion hole 32 into which the hinge pin 16 is inserted. The rotating position of the cap member 30 relative to the connection rod is determined with a polygonal face of the outer circumference of the connection rod 26 as the reference, and the rotating position of the hinge pin 15 relative to the connection rod 26 is determined by the insertion hole 32.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device for a vehicle seat, having a rattle restraining mechanism effectively restraining rattle from a slider rail. SOLUTION: The reclining device 1 for a vehicle seat is provided for angle adjustment of a seat back to a vehicle body, and includes: a rail 2 fitted onto the vehicle body; a slider 3 slidably mounted on the rail 2; a lock mechanism 4 for locking the slider 3 against the rail 2 to be releasable at a desired position; and a coupling mechanism 5 for coupling the slider 3 to the seat back, and further includes a rattle restraining mechanism 6 for restraining rattle between the slider 3 and the rail 2. The rattle restraining mechanism 6 has a rattle restraining member 6a movably mounted on the slider 3, and an energizing member 6b for energizing the rattle restraining member 6a.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of an abnormal noise between a hook and its rotating shaft, without increasing sliding resistance during the rotation of the hook. SOLUTION: A lock mechanism 20 is composed of a lock base 22, the hook 30 and a pole 40. The lock base 22 has a recess 23 capable of receiving a striker 50. The hook 30 is rotatably journaled on a hook shaft 36 (rotating shaft) which is provided on the lock base 22. The rotation of the hook 30 brings about the formation of the locked state of sandwiching the striker 50 between the recess 23 and the hook 30, or the unlocked state of releasing the striker 50. A pole 40 is rotatably journaled on the lock base 22, and turned to a position to be engaged with an engaging surface 32 of the hook 30, so that the hook 30 can be kept in the locked state. A resin coating 34 is applied to the lock 30. The hook 30 is brought into contact with the hook shaft 36 via the resin coating 34.
