    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip disposal apparatus reducing a manufacturing cost and also improving working efficiency in attaching/detaching to/from a machine tool. SOLUTION: The chip disposal apparatus 1 for use in a lateral machine tool 2 is equipped with: a base frame 3 with a machining chamber cover 7 put on to cover a machining region of a workpiece; an X-axis saddle 4 slidably mounted on the base frame 3; and a spindle device 6 supported by the X-axis saddle 4. It includes a tank 10 provided behind a lower part of the base frame 3, a flexible exhaust hose 20 communicating between the inside of the machining chamber cover 7 and the inside of the tank 10 for causing a coolant in the machining chamber cover 7 to flow into the tank 10, and a chip discharge mechanism 30 for removing chips from the coolant reserved in the tank 10 to discharge the chips out of the tank 10.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool which can recover mist state coolant scattered when a work is machined by a simple structure and can reduce the vibration of a working chamber cover. SOLUTION: The machine tool 1 includes a driving unit 23 having a spindle device 20 movable on a bed 10, a table 30 provided on the bed 10 to support the work W, the working chamber cover 40 for accommodating an end part of the spindle device 20 and the table 30 and a mist recovery mechanism 50 for recovering mist scattered in the working chamber cover 40. The mist recovery mechanism 50 includes a vent pipe 51 communicating with inside of the working chamber cover 40 and an air filter 52 for removing the mist included in air passing through the vent pipe 51.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coolant disposal apparatus simply combining a chip disposal apparatus and a coolant tank even in a small space. SOLUTION: The coolant disposal apparatus 1 for filtering a coolant includes the chip disposal apparatus 2 and the coolant tank 3. The chip disposal apparatus 2 is equipped with: a case 10 for reserving the coolant; a drum filter 20 accommodated in the case 10; a chip discharge mechanism 30 for discharging chips deposited on the bottom in the case 10 out of the case 10; and a coolant outlet 40 protrusively provided on a side face portion of the case 10. The coolant tank 3 has an inlet port 3a formed at a position corresponding to a lower part of an outlet port 41 of the coolant outlet 40. The coolant which has passed through the drum filter 20 flows down into the coolant tank 3 from the outlet port 41 of the coolant outlet 40 through the inlet port 3a of the coolant tank 3.
