摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which is capable of easily adjusting a reading position and excellent in operability. SOLUTION: When oblique traveling in a subscanning direction occurs, the machine screws 29 of an oblique travel adjusting plate 15 on which a drum 14 is fixed are loosened/moved in parallel in the direction of an arrow 28, to adjust the inclination of a second mirror table 2 and attain fixation by the machine screws 29. When magnification in a main scanning direction is too high, a machine screw 27 is loosened and the drum 14 is rotated clockwise, to shorten the optical path length from a manuscript surface to a light receiving element. Thus, wires 4 and 5 can be wound by the same quantity. Consequently, the second mirror table 2 can be moved in parallel in the direction of an arrow 30 and at a place where the exact magnification is obtained, the drum 14 is fixed by the machine screw 27.
