    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability of a boring machine and a direction correcting device used to bury a propulsion pipe underground.SOLUTION: A boring machine comprises a forefront body equipped with a cutter head, a main body, and a direction correcting device supporting the forefront body. The direction correcting device has a jack cylinder provided near a front end of the main body of the boring machine and a joint provided near a rear end of the forefront body of the boring machine. The jack cylinder can be rotatably driven at least in a vertical direction by inserting a shaft into a through-hole provided in a support base installed on the inside surface of the main body and a through-hole of the jack cylinder. A front end part of the jack cylinder is provided with a cylinder rod having a sphere-shaped or substantially sphere-shaped portion near the front end thereof. The inner surface of the joint is formed in a spherical or almost spherical surface of a size equal or substantially equal to a spherical or almost spherical body of the cylinder rod, and the inner surface of the joint fits with the spherical or almost spherical body of the cylinder rod to swingably support the forefront body of the boring machine.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bypass valve for slurry feeding/discharging pipe lines and an excavator provided with the same, used in a jacking method.SOLUTION: A bypass valve for slurry feeding/discharging pipes used in a jacking method comprises: a housing provided with at least two slurry feeding pipelines each connected with the slurry feeding pipe and at least two slurry discharging pipelines each connected with the slurry discharging pipe; a rotary valve; and a driving part. A bypass space in which the rotary valve can rotate around its central axis is formed in the housing and the opening/closing state of the bypass valve is controlled by rotating the rotary valve in the bypass space by means of the driving part. When the bypass valve is opened, the two slurry feeding pipelines and the two slurry discharging pipelines communicate with each other via the bypass space, respectively, and when the bypass valve is closed, the slurry feeding pipelines communicate with the slurry discharging pipelines via the bypass space.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boring machine used to bury a boring pipe in the ground.SOLUTION: There is provided a boring machine which has a motor-integrated reduction gear in its forefront body and a direction correcting device and bypass valve in its body. The motor-integrated reduction gear has a hollow pipe passing through the inside thereof so that chemical or lubricant can be injected directly to bits. The direction correcting device is installed between the forefront body and the body to support the forefront body, and an inner surface of a joint mounted on the body receives a sphere formed at the tip of a cylinder rod mounted on the forefront body so that the forefront body is supported so as to freely swing. The bypass valve controls opening/closing of the bypass of a mud feeding pipe and a mud discharge pipe by driving a revolving-door-shaped rotary valve. The rear end of the boring machine is joined with a joint member having a center pipe, a mud feeding pipe, a mud discharge pipe, and a fluid pipe.
