    • PURPOSE:To heat automatically and uniformly a pipe extending over the whole circumference by making use of a heat source whose safety is high by differing from a flame of a burner, by a method wherein a hot air ring outserted over a coated steel pipe is moved in the direction of a pipe axis by a self-propelled traverse rest, which is made into a heating method of a heat-shrinkable sheet. CONSTITUTION:A rest 1 is mounted on a coated steel pipe W by turning a heat-shrinkable sheet 5 inside under a state where a lower semicircular pipe 3-2 and flexible tube 4-2 are removed from a hot air ring 3. Then the lower semicircular pipe 3-2 of the hot air ring 3 is fitted into the coated steel pipe from the lower side and connected with an upper semicircular pipe 3-1 through a clamp lever with which a flexible tube 4-2 is connected further. Then the hot air ring 3 is moved to the central part (weld bead part) of the heat- shrinkable sheet 5, hot air having a predetermined temperature is sent into the hot air ring 3 through the flexible tube 4-2 and the central part of the heat-shrinkable tube 4-2 is heated and contracted, to begin with. Then the heat- shrinkable sheet 5 is heated and shrinked in order while moving the hot air ring 3 at a fixed speed toward a one side end part from the central part by driving a linear motor 2-3.

    • PURPOSE:To execute repair welding with a high efficiency by inclining and holding a welding torch against a pipe axis, executing the weaving to the pipe axis in a set state at every turning, and also bringing it to an automatic return or stop, when a welding condition is out of a set range. CONSTITUTION:A profile sensor 20 is positioned at the top part of a steel pipe W and a torch 16 is run plural times along a fillet weld zone A, lamination welding is executed, and a repair band B is joined to the steel pipe W. In the inside of a user program, a weaving data of about 45 deg. of every time is contained, and by the data of the upper and lower, and the right and left positions of the welding torch 16 which has been inclined about 45 deg., weaving is realized extending over each turning. The welding condition is integrated into the user program, and the pipe top part is set as an initial position at every movement of 10mm. In this way, the welding condition is always monitored, a stop and an automatic return of an automatic welding equipment can be executed, also a bead having no defect can be obtained, and repair welding can be executed with a high work efficiency.

    • PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency and welding quality by fitting externally and fixing copper backing strips which can be cooled with water onto a butt part and subjecting said part to butt welding while changing the distance between the top end of a welding torch and the inside surface of a pipe and the angle of inclination of the torch. CONSTITUTION:About 50 deg. groove is set to the butt part of an existing welded pipe 1 and an unwelded pipe 2 and the root gap is made zero. A pair of semi- toric copper backing strips 3, 3 are disposed on the outside circumference of the butt part and are fitted externally and fixed to the butt part by means of lever blocks 4. The strip 3 is formed internally with a cavity for water cooling in which the cooling water circulates. A welding head 15 is supported rotatably around the central axis of the pipe to the inside of the pipe by means of fixing legs and is driven by an electric motor 17. The welding torch 21 welds the butt part while changing the distance between the same and the inside surface of the pipe and the angle of inclination thereof in accordance with optimum conditions by the above-mentioned mechanism.
