CONSTITUTION:The heat developable element consisting of (a) an oxidation- reduction image forming component consisting of a reducible org. acid salt and a reducing agent, (b) photosensitive silver halide, and (c) a binder is formed on a substrate in single or multiple layers, whereby the heat developable photosenstive material is produced. At this time, nitrocellulose is added to the heat developable element in the form of solid or after it is dissolved in a suitable solvent. Here, if the silver halide of the component (b) is formed by substituting part of the org. silver salt, the nitrocellulose is added after the formation of silver halide, but in other cases, it may be added it any time of the production process of the photosensitive material.

An intermediate layer may be formed on the pigment layer before the coating. The amount of the pigment in the pigment layer is >=50wt% (expressed in terms of solid matter) of the amount of the binder, gelatin is used as the binder, and the amount of the latex incorporated into the pigment layer is regulated to 10-150wt% (expressed in terms of solid matter) of the amount of the binder. Elasticity can be provided by incorporating the polymer latex into the pigment layer, and a photosensitive material protected from cracking by drying and from flawing under external force and having high resolving power can be obtd.

CONSTITUTION:A hydrophillic colloid such as gelatin, polyvinyl alcohol is incorporated in a water-soluble dye such as stilbene system, coumarin system or in case of water-insoluble, dye, a solution in which the dye is dissolved in a high-boiling point solvent is dispersed in a hydrophillic colloid. Said colloidal solution is coated on a laminated paper, coated paper, especially baryta paper used as a base for photographic paper and dried to obtain a detecting base paper. When a piece of the base paper is used, it is immersed in a color-developing liquid mixture contg. chlorophosphonazo III (an aqueous solution of tartaric acid and hydroxylamine-hydrochloric acid), brought closely into contact with the polished surface of a steel material and stripped off after about one minute. Clear green coloring is developed at the places of slag and powder inclusions.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent smoking of a thermodevelopable photosensitive material during developing it and to enhance its storage stability in high temp. and high humidity, by forming an overcoat layer of PVA having a saponification degree not below a specified value on the thermodevelopable photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The thermodevelopable photosensitive layer formed on a support in a single layer or multilayers contains photosensitive elements consisting at least of (A) an oxidation-reduction image forming components consisting of a long chain aliphatic acid silver salt, such as silver behenate, and a reducing agent, such as 2,2'-methylenebis-(6-t-butyl-4-methylphenol); (B) photosensitive silver halide and/or or a photosensitive silver halide-forming component, such as a part of reducible org. silver salt capable of being halogenated with NaCl or the like; (C) a binder, such as polyvinyl butyral. This layer is coated with PVA of >=90% saponification degree to form an overcoat layer. As a result, smoking during thermodevelopment which has been trouble in the maintenance of the developing machine and a cause of environmental pollution is prevented and the obtained thermodevelopable photosensitive material is enhanced in aging stability in high temp. and high humidity.
