When the paper 20 is set at the same position as in the early period and paper is supplied, the outputs of mark sensors 11 and 12 are 12 are all turned on, and printing is made on the line 23. When the paper 20 is set in skew and supplied, one or both of the mark sensors 11 and 12 are turned off, paper is discharged, and a warning for resetting of the paper 20 is commanded to LED15 and a buzzer 16.

CONSTITUTION:In a comb-shaped type bar, respective type plates 11-1n are inserted into stripe grooves 71-7n and elastically held by a stopper hole 3, provided to each type plate, and a projection 9 of a floating stopper piece 11 actuated inward by the elasticity. Therefore the type plate 1 moves neither vertically nor horizontally so that the discrepancy of printing is avoided and quality of printing is improved. When a type is replaced, the type plate can be drawn out easily by shaking the type plate and the floating stopper piece against its elasticity so that replacement of a type can be done very easily.

CONSTITUTION:The semi-circular disk form shutter plate 9 is provided as one body with the shaft 3 so that the position where one-side edges 10 of the plate 9 reaches the photo sensor 5 from a fixed direction to interrupt the light corresponds to the condition wherein a position A' to be a reference of the platen 2 reaches a normal reference position A. In the condition wherein the light from the sensor 5 is not interrupted by the shutter plate 9, the platen 2 is rotated clockwise by a pulse motor 1, while in the condition wherein the light is interrupted, the platen is rotated counterclockwise. Accordingly, the platen can be located at the normal reference position by rotating it by an amount of not larger than about one half rotation, and the platen can be efficiently driven.

When reaching the set number of times, the counter part is cleared while the address data of the frequently- used types 8 is altered to that of the same new types and the printing part 14 is driven on the basis of this address data. By this method, printing quality and the use efficiency of the type plate can be enhanced.

The pawl 18 of a sending pawl lever 15 is engaged with teeth of a gear 10 and rotates the gear 10 while moved only over the amount corresponding to the revolving amount of the solenoid 29 along with the swinging lever 11 to impart the vertical feed to a platen 9.
