    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell separator of excellent mass productivity for enhancing the design versatility of a gas flow passage pattern without interdependence in unevenness between the surface side and the back side of the separator, and ensuring the uniform surface pressure during the lamination. SOLUTION: This fuel cell separator comprises a thin film stainless steel base member 11, a nickel wall part 14 for a gas flow passage section deposited by electro-casting on the surface and back sides of the stainless steel base member 11, and a gold film 15 formed on the surface of the base member 11 and the wall part 14.     • PURPOSE:To remove a gap between a mold and a frame at the time of resin seal and prevent formation of resin varias, by holding a lead frame with a jig and applying plating to an exposed part in an opening on one surface after a selective grinding. CONSTITUTION:A jig body 10 and 14 consist of Si rubber etc. The jig body 10 and a fixed plate 12 have overlapped opening part 11, 13. The jig body 14 has no opening and a press plate is stacked thereon. A lead frame 1 is held between the plates 12, 15 with the intervention of the jig body 10, 14, and the whole parts are made into a monolithic body. Then the opening part is faced with a nozzle 24, and the abrasive solutions are jetted to a region 8 to be a plated region, which is activated by chemical abrasion. After washing the plating solutions are jetted to plate the region 8. Thereafter the jig body is removed and after washing and drying a frame 31 is completed. With such an arrangement, no gap is caused between a mold and a frame at the time of resin seal, because the unplated area retains the original thickness. Thus no resin varias occur.
