摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a photocatalyst from being deteriorated in functions by intermittently heat-treating the photocatalyst at rather low temp. SOLUTION: An electric heater 4 is attached to the back face of a photocatalyst layer 1 to intermittently heat treat at a rather low temp. by a voltage controlling circuit 5. As for the heating method, the photocatalyst may be heated with IR rays or hot air blow. The interval and temp. of heating are properly controlled according to the use conditions, and it is preferable to heat at 100 deg.C to 200 deg.C for several minutes to about 30 minutes once in a moth to six months. When extremely high photocatalytic characteristics such as antifog property are required, the performance of the photocatalyst can be surely kept by heating every several ten hours. Thereby, even in an environment with little dose of UV rays such as in a room or shade, hydrophilicity imparting property can be improved by intermittent heating and best performances can be always obtd. Therefore, the functional characteristics of the photocatalyst can be stably obtd. without being deteriorated.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polycrystalline combined ceramic compact producing a thermotherapeutic effect even to a dressed man, not causing a burn at low temp. and microwave hazard, requiring no protective spectacles and excellent in safety by blending powdery ceramic stock with the same elements as the essential constituent elements of a human body or elements belonging to the groups of the constituent elements or groups close to the groups, compacting and sintering the resultant blend and using the resultant sintered compact as a far IR radiating substrate. SOLUTION: This radiating substrate radiates far IR of such a long wavelength as >=5μm in large quantities. Powdery ceramic stock such as zirconia or titania stock is blended with oxides of metals such as Fe, Mn, Co, Cu, Ni, Ba, Zn, Ca and K and >=10 kinds of essential constituent elements of a human body, e.g. Na, K, Mg, Ca, Cr, Mo, Mn, Fe, Co and Ni. The resultant blend is compacted in a prescribed shape and sintered at 500-1,300 deg.C to obtain the objective ceramic compact. This compact is allowed to radiate far IR by raising the surface temp. to 350-600 deg.C by resistance heating.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material using a photocatalytic body, with which an ink bearing layer coping not only with water base ink but also with oily ink is obtained, by a method wherein a photocatalytic body equipped with an ink repellent layer having a water-repellent or an oil-repellent effect, and in which a hydrophilic or lipophilic surface is obtained through a short-time and simple method of development-free light irradiation and water washing, is employed. SOLUTION: By applying a water-repelling treatment to a photocatalytic body having a surface with a fine uneven structure, an ink repellent layer, which is water-repellent or oil-repellent and repels both water base ink and oily ink, is obtained. By exposing a photocatalytic layer through the excitation of the photocatalytic layer by light irradiation and the easy decomposition and removal of a water and oil repellent through the oxidative destruction reaction of the excited layer, a highly lipophilic surface is realized so as to be utilized as an oily ink bearing layer in order to employ the photocatalytic body as an image forming material. Further, an image forming method employing a photocatalytic body, on which an ink bearing layer is formed in a short time by accelerating the change from a water-repellent and oil-repellent to a lipophilic nature through the light irradiation over and water washing of the surface of the photocatalytic layer at its destruction, is obtained.
