    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombinant polypeptide (molecular weight of 30 kD) derived from Helicobacter cinaedi (H. cinaedi) and a serologically diagnostic method for H. cinaedi-infected patients using the same. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a serologically diagnostic method comprising as a solid antigen a polypeptide having a specific amino acid sequence, the peptide characterized by (1) enabling to bind to the serum of H. cinaedi-infected patients and (2) having an amino acid sequence in which one or several amino acids are deleted, added and substituted, and a peptide comprising one part of the polypeptide. The method comprises an antigen-antibody method using any polypeptides or peptides of the peptide which can bind to the serum of H. cinaedi-infected patients.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the correctness for determining the existence of a foreign substance when the foreign substance is inspected by using image data processing.
      SOLUTION: The image data having a plurality of pixels arrayed in a plurality of columns in the longitudinal direction and a plurality of rows in the lateral direction is generated based on information on an image obtained by imaging an object 10 to be inspected. An average value or an accumulation value of intensity values of the pixels in the generated image data is calculated in at least one column or row in the longitudinal or lateral direction. A difference between the average values or the accumulation values in two adjacent columns or rows is calculated as a differential value of the average value or the accumulation value in each column or row. It determines whether each differential value is within a predetermined threshold. The existence of the foreign substance is determined based on the number of the differential values outside the threshold.
