    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-length material discriminating tool which can deal with long-length materials of various diameters only by preparing one kind or a few kinds thereof. SOLUTION: The long-length material identifying tool 11 is attached to the long-length material 8 such as a telecommunication cable for identification. A main body part 12 of the long-length material identifying tool 11 has a display face 12a for discrimination display and a contacting face 12b which is brought into contact with the long-length material at the time of attaching. Plural protrusions 13 are integrally provided respectively at both sides of the contacting face 12b of the main body part 12. The long-length material 8 is brought into contact with the contacting face 12b of the main body part 12 and a string 9 for attaching is alternatively hooked around to right and left protrusions 13 to attach the long-length material discriminating tool 11 to the long-length material 8. Since being attached by the string, the long-length material discriminating tool 11 can deal with the long-length materials of wide range of diameters. Since being not prolonged much, the string does not tangle and attaching work is easy. Since being brought into direct contact with the long-length material, the long-length material identifying tool is not bulky and does not obstruct attaching work. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting/branching work managing system for an optical fiber core which effectively assists connecting/branching work of an optical fiber core in an optical connection box. SOLUTION: A tag (electromagnetic induction type memory element) is provided to each of a plurality of optical connection boxes to store in advance a management information (management ID) specific to each optical connection box. An management device comprises a database in which an arrangement (installation position) of the optical connection box, a management information of the connection box, and an optical fiber core connection information in the optical connection box are stored. An information terminal presents a worker the content of connecting/branching work if the management information separately read in non-contact manner out of the tag provided to each optical connection box at a field agrees with the management information about the optical connection box, which is to be worked with, downloaded from the management apparatus together with the content of connecting/branching work of the optical fiber core. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, inexpensively, safely, and simply, wiring that is rational and efficient. SOLUTION: The conventional calculating method wherein the voltage drop e is proportional to the distance L is changed to a realistic calculating method wherein the voltage drop e is proportional to the product of the current I and the distance L. The calculation is in accordance with interior wiring regulations and does not conflict with any standard or regulation. Depending on the situation, selection of the wire after a single calculation, or making adjustments for the purpose of reducing copper loss may be considered. Generally, the non- adjusting case is suited for a load circuit, and the adjusting case for a trunk circuit; however, when in doubt, clarifying the purpose will provide a guideline for the decision. A loop circuit may continue to be safely used if a rupture occurs in one spot by merely removing the connection at the ruptured spot and has the effect of recovering the deficit of increased copper loss. This is effective in circuits with fluctuating load, plants having frequent layout changes, and is a new wiring method with small circuit loss, stable voltage, decreased failures, as well as reduction in maintenance cost.
