    • PURPOSE:To prevent adverse dry of a wedge due to anomalous high-temperature of a massive magnetic pole arranged opposite to the wedge via a gap by a construction wherein a coating for lowering transmission of the radiation heat is provided to the wedge for retaining a stator coil on the side facing the gap. CONSTITUTION:A coating 10 for lowering the transfer of the radiation heat from a magnetic pole 6 is provided to a wedge 5 on the side facing a gap 9. As an example, silver aluminium paint with a radiation rate of 0.5 is painted and then dried to form a coating. The coating 10 interrupts transmission of the radiation heat from the surface of the massive magnetic pole core 6, thereby to reduce an anomalous temperature rise in the wedge 5. The coating 10 should be formed of such a material which is not conductive as a whole and will not produce an eddy current due to the AC magnetic field.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the displacement of teeth and to suppress abnormal vibration by fabiricating the rotor so that the side gaps of coil wedges at the end part of the axial direction are narrower than the side gaps at the central part, thereby eliminating the gasp otherwise the teeth may be displaced. CONSTITUTION:With regard to the coil wedge 5 for holding a field winding 7 in a slot, the side gaps g1a and g2b between the coil wedges 5a and 5b at the location at the end part of the axial direction of the slot and the wedge groove are made as narrow as possible than the side gaps g1 and g2 at the central part of the axial direction as long as it is suitable for the fabrication. In this constitution, the displacement of the teeth due to the elongation caused by heat and frequent strtings and stoppings can be prevented.
