    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a light emission efficiency of a semiconductor light-emitting element and a conversion efficiency of a second harmonic wave generating element.
      SOLUTION: In a driving circuit 10 for driving a semiconductor laser 132, when a switching element is set to be in an OFF state from an ON state, induced electromotive force is generated in an inductor 124. By this induced electromotive force, in the semiconductor laser 132, a current equivalent to a current value which has flowed in the inductor 124 before setting the transistor 152 to an OFF state flows, and the current value flowing in the inductor 124 is reduced with effluence of magnetic energy stored in the inductor 124. Therefore, a current having a steep rising waveform is supplied to the semiconductor laser 132, and laser light represented by a steep rising waveform is output to a wavelength conversion element 134 from the semiconductor laser 132. As a result, a conversion efficiency of a second harmonic wave generating element is improved.
