CONSTITUTION:Molten metal is introduce into a mold constituted of an inside belt 3, an outside belt 4, and side face guide plates 12, and cooling water is supplied through the supply ports 16 of the outer guide 14a and inner guide 14b to form high velocity cooling water films 20 through cooling water chambers 17 and cooling water outflow ports 18, thereby cooling the molten metal via the belts 3, 4 and making an ingot 11. Plural guide blocks 22 are fitted attachably and detachably to guide supporting devices 21 on both sides of the guides 14b so that the molten metal is cooled. Thereby, these are constituted to the same width as the guides 14a, and the degradation is shape owing to middle elongation is prevented.

The belt 5 is supported by the pressure of the cooling water equal to the static pressure of the meral 2, and an ingot 24 is cooled by the belt 5, by which the thickness of a solidified shell 25 is increased. This ingot is discharged to the outside of the machine. The same holds true of the outside belt 6 side, the inside belt 3 side and the outside belt 4 side.

In a magnetism absorber device 6 consisting of a jacket case 7 and a permanent magnet 8 inside the case 7, a coolant is flowed in the jacket case 7 through a coolant entrance 9 provided in the jacket case 7 for cooling the permanent magnet 8 and the jacket case 7 body.

      CONSTITUTION: A hot rolled, high temperature steel strip in a coil form is dipped into a water bath and cooled therein. The coil 1, whose scale contains a residual FeO after said water cooling, is uncoiled from a coiler 2, and is subjected to a cold rolling mill 4 for rolling with a 4W40% draft percentage; hereby, the scale layer is sufficiently crushed into pieces. A high pressure water is jetted from a jet nozzle 6 of a high pressure water jetter 5 so as to violently collide with the strip surface and remove the crushed scale. Or otherwise, instead of this high pressure water jetter, a brushing apparatus, etc., is employed to remove the scale. Thus descaled strip is coiled by a coiler 7, or is sent to a cold rolling mill 8, according to the necessity.

This value delta is outputted to an adder 30, and a nozzle gap set value G0 is outputted from an indicator 29 as well. The value G0 and the rate delta are added in an adder 30, and a motor 25 is so controlled by way of a driving control circuit 31 that the gap coincides with the output of the adder 30. A screw 24 driven by the motor 25 revolves to vertically move a support plate 23, thereby adjusting the gap between the drum 10 and a tip nozzle 16.

CONSTITUTION:The pressure in the gas chamber 6 of a furnace 4 below an internally cooled rotary drum 1 is controlled by a gas control device 7, and molten metal 3 is poured onto the surface of the drum 1 in a sealing cover 8 supplied with an inert gas from a nozzle 5. Then, it is cooled by the drum 1 in the sections (a), (b) from the pouring position up to a guide roll 9, and is cooled by both of a belt 13 and the drum 1 in the sections (b), (c), of the guide rolls 9, 10, whereby it is made into a sheet of a half molten state. At the same time, it is pressed by the guide roll 9 and the belt 13, whereby the sheet which is smooth on both surfaces is obtained.
