摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ashless lubricating oil composition which does not contain a metal and exhibits excellent extreme-pressure properties and corrosion- proofing properties even under severe lubricating conditions from both the viewpoints of lubricating properties and rust-preventing properties of a lubricating oil. SOLUTION: This lubricating oil composition is prepared by compounding (I) 100 pts.wt. lube base oil with (II) 0.001-0.5 pt.wt. carboxylic acid-base or carboxylic ester-base rust-preventive and (III)0.001-0.2 pt.wt. at least one amine selected from the group consisting of alkylamines represented by the formula (1): (R )n NH3-n and N-alkyl-polyalkylenediamines represented by formula (2): R NH(CH2 )m NH2 .

SOLUTION: This method for predicting the activity drop of a hydrogenating desulfurization catalyst by the use of the following activity drop prediction formula: 1n(kt/k0)=-(α1x1+α2 x2+......+αnXn) t (kt is reaction rate constant after t hour; k0 is the initial reaction rate constant; α1 to αn are the respective deterioration constants of coke-forming source substance groups; x1 to xn are the respective concentrations of the coke-forming source substance groups in a feedstock oil; and t is reaction time) based on the respective concentrations of the coke- forming source substance groups in the feedstock oil and the reaction time, and the other objective method for operating a hydrogenating desulfurizer by the use of the above prediction method are provided.
