    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active polyphase filter wherein distortion is reduced even when large power is inputted. SOLUTION: NPN transistors Q 1 , Q 2 , Q 4 , Q 5 and NPN transistors Q 6 , Q 7 , Q 4 , Q 5 respectively form a translinear loop. NPN transistors Q 2 , Q 3 and NPN transistors Q 7 , Q 8 respectively form a current mirror circuit. Thus, both the difference between the collector currents of the NPN transistors Q 1 , Q 3 and the difference between the collector currents of the NPN transistors Q 6 , Q 8 are equal to the current of a balanced high-frequency input. By setting two sets of differential inputs like these to be four inputs of a polyphase filter portion 10, differential outputs where even-numbered components are suppressed and phases are different by π/2 can be obtained from the four outputs of the polyphase filter portion 10.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a polyphase filter by using minimum capacity elements and active circuits, and a smaller number of resistance elements.
      SOLUTION: The polyphase filter is equipped with 1st and 2nd networks, including 1st and 2nd input/output terminals, buffer circuits, capacitors, and resistances. The 1st network 1 shows low-pass characteristics to a signal from a 1st input terminal and high-pass signal to a signal from a 2nd input terminal. The 2nd network 2 shows high-pass characteristics to the signal from the 1st input terminal and low-pass characteristics to the signal from the 2nd input terminal. One of transfer functions, showing the low-pass characteristics or high-pass characteristics of the 1st network 1, has the same polarity as with a transfer function, showing the low-pass characteristics or high-pass characteristics of the 2nd network 2, and the other transfer function of the 1st network has a polarity inverted from the transfer function of the 2nd network.
