    • PURPOSE:To detect the location of a cloth end speedily by a method wherein when the existence of a cloth is detected by a detector for reference, a detecting motion is advanced in the opposite direction to the cloth, and the detection is advanced to the cloth side when no existence of the cloth is detected, and the location at which the detecting result changes is taken as the cloth end. CONSTITUTION:Regarding an upper cloth UW, 10 sets of light emitting elements OSU1-OSU10 and light receptor elements ISU1-ISU10 cast detecting lights which are a dot line form crossing with the end of the upper cloth UW, from the leading end sides of locations A1-A10 of reference optical fiber number, which are previously set, and the location of the cloth end of the upper cloth UW is detected by the reflected lights, and the light emitting elements OSU1-OSU10 and light receptor elements ISU1-ISU10 are operaed one by one in order. Then, when the existence of a cloth is detected, the detecting motion is advanced in the opposite direction to the cloth, and when no existence of a cloth is detected, the detecting motion is advanced to the cloth side. By this method, the location of a cloth end can be most efficiently and quickly researched.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a skirt curl-aiding device for automating a skirt turn-in operation by forming a stabilized shape curl on the skirt of a texture to be supplied to a trumpet-shaped curler. CONSTITUTION:A skirt turn-in aiding device for forming a curl on an end of a texture supplied to a trumpet-shaped curler 3 is provided with a curling roller 7 for curling forcibly the end of the texture, a guide 8 for guiding the end of the texture to be curled along the outer periphery of the curling roller, a sensor 9 for detecting the end of the texture and a control means for controlling the rotation of the curling roller such that the curled end of the texture is set to a fixed position on the basis of the detecting result of the sensor. When the sensor 9 does not detect the end of the texture, the texture end is forcibly curled by the rotation of the curling roller and when the sensor 9 detects the texture end a curling force is weakened. Thus, the texture end is always formed with a fixed-shaped curl to be conducted to the curler 3 which can form always a stabilized shape skirt curl to automate a skirt turn-in operation.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the cloth end position with high accuracy even if the lower cloth has a step part by making a solar cell for measuring the upper cloth and the lower cloth end positions, and a light emitting element for the upper cloth supported with an anti-insertion side of a separating plate as a supporting point so as to be turnable integrally in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:In the case of sewing the lower cloth 3 having a step part 3a onto the upper cloth 2, solar cells 1C, 1D for measuring a lower cloth end position, a light emitting LED panel 3A for the upper cloth and solar cells 1A, 1B for measuring an upper cloth end position are turned upwards integrally with a shaft 13 as a supporting point, therefore, the lower cloth 3 is inserted without a hindrance between a light emitting LED panel 3B for the upper cloth and the solar cells 1C, 1D. In this case, a relative position relation of the panel 3B and the solar cells 1C, 1D is varied sine the panel 3B is fixed to a throat plate side 11 side. This turning angle is detected by a solar cell 10C for discriminating the lower cloth step part, and the lower cloth end position corresponding to an output voltage of the solar cells 1C, 1D is corrected by a control means.

    • PURPOSE:To automatically stably form stitches approximately parallel to an end edge by surely correcting the positional deviation of the end edge of a texture fed in a needle location. CONSTITUTION:A texture end controlling roller 22 is mounted to the tip of a swing arm 20 disposed in front of a needle location and connected to the output shaft to a texture end motor 21 fixed to the proximal end. The positional deviation of the texture end from a reference feed line C is detected by a texture end sensor 3. The texture end motor 21 is driven according to the detection to rotate the texture end controlling roller 22 forward and backward and apply a moving force to the texture sandwiched between the controlling roller 22 and a driven roller 24 in the direction orthogonal to the feeding direction so that the positional deviation of the texture end from the reference feed line 24 is corrected. Also, the texture end controlling roller 22 and driven roller 24 are bevel rollers expanded toward the downstream side in the direction of feeding the texture so that the texture fed in from the contracted diameter side is reasonably sandwiched. Further, a lift cylinder 26 is advanced according to the detection of completed sewing by a completed sewing sensor 4 to lift the texture end controlling roller 22 on the tip of the swing arm 20 and release the texture from the state sandwiched between the controller 22 and driven roller 24.
