    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material excellent in image preservability in a dark hot state, and to provide an image forming method therfor. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material is obtained by disposing an image forming layer containing photosensitive silver halide, non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent, a polyhalogenated compound and a binder on at least one surface side of a support, wherein a binder-containing non-photosensitive intermediate layer A is disposed between an outermost layer remotest from the support on the surface side of the support with the image forming layer and the image forming layer, the binder in the non-photosensitive intermediate layer A contains ≥50 mass% of a hydrophobic polymer, and the binder in the image forming layer contains a polymer obtained by copolymerizing a monomer represented by the formula (M-1): CH 2 =CR 01 -CR 02 =CH 2 .
