CONSTITUTION:When relative rotation is generated between both the first and second propeller shafts 25, 26, relative rotation is generated between an outer case 11, acting piston 13 and a retainer 15, which are integrally rotatably built in the shaft 25, and an inner shaft 12 and a rotor 14 which are integrally rotatably built in the shaft 26. Accordingly, in a fluid chamber of a pressing force generating means 10a, the acting piston 13 is pressed in the axial direction by forcedly fluidizing viscous fluid in a stay-accumulating chamber R2 at a speed in proportion to the time of relative rotation and by generating pressure distribution in which a pressure in a stay-accumulating chamber R2, successively relatively moving in the peripheral direction, is gradually increased toward the upstream side end of a next vane part 14b from the downstream side end of a vane part 14b being caused by fluidization resistance.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent change of the viscous property or a viscous fluid and maintain the torque transmission property of a driving force transmission device by providing a communicating hole opened to the side of the housing chamber of a friction clutch to an annular groove with which a seal member that seals between a working piston and an outer rotary member liquid-tight is engaged. CONSTITUTION:An annular groove 13d is formed on the outer circumference of a working piston 13, and a seal ring 18 in a O-shape of elastic member is fitted there. And, a communicating hole 13f is formed to the working piston 13, with its one end is opened to the bottom part of one side wall 13e that constitutes the annular groove 13d and its another end is opened to a clutch housing chamber R1 communicating these annular groove 13d and clutch housing chamber R1 together. The seal ring 18 is pushed against an outer case 11 and positions in the annular groove 13d in the state of initial assembly, sealing between the outer circumference of the working piston 13 and the inner circumference of the outer case 11 liquid-tight. With these means, clutch oil does not return to the clutch housing chamber without being confined in it, eliminating lowering of the torque transmission property of the driving force transmission device in question.

    • PURPOSE:To lower increase rate of transmission torque in the low differential rotation zone as well as to raise the increase rate of the transmission torque in the high differential rotation zone by providing a spring which applies force in the direction that the first working piston is removed from the second working piston. CONSTITUTION:When relative rotation is generated between both propeller shafts 25 and 26, pressure corresponding to the number of differential rotations is generated in fluid chambers of both pressurizing force generating means 10a and 10b to pressurize both working pistons 13 and 16 in the axial direction. The piston 16 directly pressurizes a frictional clutch 10c and frictionally engages each of clutch plates 19a constituting it with clutch disks 19b through oil for clutch. On the other hand, as the piston 13 is pressurized against a compression spring 19d, it does not aid pressurizing force of the piston 16 till it overcomes the applied force of this spring 19d, but when it overcomes the applied force, it aids pressurizing force of the piston 16 corresponding to the number of differential rotations and further increases frictional engaging force between the plates 19a and the disks 19b.
