    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively measure a strange noise (sound), and to allow easy installation in a vehicle, as to an in-vehicle strange noise collecting device.
      SOLUTION: This in-vehicle strange noise collecting device 60 includes a substantially hexagonal sound collecting part 62 arranged cylindrically with six sound collecting horns 70, a stage 64 for mounting the sound collecting part 62, and attaching legs 66 provided in a lower part of the stage 64. The each sound collecting horn 70 has a shape spread toward the end, and a widened opening side for picking up the sound is directed to an outside, i.e. each direction in an inside of a vehicle. A thinned opening side of the each sound collecting horn 70 is a portion for collecting the sound, and the nondirectional microphone 80 is inserted thereinto. Sound pressure is increased by about 25-30dB, by using the sound collecting horns 70, compared when not using the sound collecting horns 70, so as to effectively detect the in-vehicle strange noise of a low energy level compared with a background noise.

      SOLUTION: The drum tester 1 capable of performing traveling inspection of a four-wheel vehicle 2 by making the vehicle 2 travel on each lateral pair of first and second drums 4 and 5 on which lateral drive wheels 3a and 3b individually abut includes a drum connection means 14 for rotating the first and second drums 4 and 5 in an integrated manner so as to transmit the rotating force of one of the drums 4 and 5 to the other drum 4 or 5. The tester further includes an inertial load providing motor 20 which transmits the rotating force to one of the drums 4 and 5 and a control device body 19 which controls the rotation of the motor 20. The inertial load to be provided to the vehicle 2 (lateral drive wheels 3a and 3b) can be controlled by one motor 20 and one control device body 19 to reduce the costs for device configuration and for preparation operations in inertial load control and vehicle traveling inspection.

      SOLUTION: A wheel 3 is supported by first and second drums 4, 5 of which the outer peripheral surface includes projections 9 and which are in contact with the lower front part and lower rear part of the wheel of the vehicle 2, respectively, and the first drum 4 is rotatively driven by a motor 7, thereby rotating the wheel 3 and the second drum 5, in addition to the first drum 4 and providing the vehicle 2 with vibrations by the projections 9 via the wheel 3. The second drum 5 is freely rotatable, and its rotation speed is irregular owing to slipping occurring between it and the wheel 3, thereby providing wide-range changes in the rotational phase difference with the first drum 4, and hence, reproducing an actual road surface travel condition with vibrations over a wide frequency range added in the vehicle 2. Abnormal sound inspection is performed, while the vehicle 2 is run on the vehicle actual road surface travel reproducing apparatus 6, thereby allowing abnormal sound over a wide frequency range that isproduced in the vehicle 2 to be inspected at low cost.
