    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital ASK modulation circuit, in which a problem such as high component costs and control costs of a conventional analog ASK circuit and complexity in design calculation is solved, the number of parts is reduced, setting or control in design is simplified and stable modulated output can be obtained. SOLUTION: In this digital ASK modulation circuit, an oscillator 1 outputs a digitized carrier wave, a decoder 20 switches and outputs first and second transmission permitting signals corresponding to the digital value of a transmitting data signal, a first buffer 11 amplifies the carrier wave and outputs it according to the first transmission permitting signal. Then, a first variable resistor 12 outputs the data signal after controlling it to a first amplitude, a second buffer 14 amplifies the carrier wave and outputs it according to the second transmission permitting signal. Then, a second variable resistor 15 outputs the data signal after controlling it to a second amplitude, and the signals are composited and outputted as a modulated wave by an OR circuit 17.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize and reduce the cost of a modulator and a demodulator adopting the ASK modulation system, an in-station transmitter that makes multiplex transmission of a main signal and transmission information with respect to maintenance and operation between devices placed in a common station office via the modulator and the demodulator and to narrow the transmission band. SOLUTION: The modulator provided with a pre-coding means 11 that sequentially codes each bit of transmission information given in series and generates a code stream corresponding to the time sequence to the bits where a mean value of peaks of the waveform is lower than a prescribed upper limit and a modulation means 12 that identifies each bit value of the generated code for a period less than a half of the period of a desired carrier signal, alternately outputs a maximum value and a minimum value specified depending on the mark, and outputs a mean value of the maximum value and the minimum value depending on the space so as to output a discrete modulated wave resulting from modulating the carrier signal depending on the transmission information.
