    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy consumption calculating apparatus that calculates an energy consumption by estimating operations of a user on a cooling and heating machine considering a price of electric power and environments inside and outside a house.SOLUTION: An energy consumption calculating apparatus that simulates a transition in power consumption of a cooling and heating machine operated by a user in a house is provided. First and second receivers each receive a demand response signal and an external environment factor parameter. A discomfort model represents a relationship between internal temperature of the house and a degree of discomfort of the user. A first internal temperature calculator calculates internal temperature in the next sampling time while the cooling and heating machine is not working. A second internal temperature calculator determines internal temperature in the next sampling time while the cooling and heating machine is working. An operation sequence generator determines whether or not the cooling and heating machine works until the next sampling time. A power consumption determiner determines power consumption of the cooling and heating machine until the next sampling time, and outputs data representing a value of the determined power consumption.
