    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an image display device, reducing damages to a substrate when the substrate is jointed by laser beam irradiation, and suppressing, especially, occurrence of disconnection of wiring and short circuit, and excellent in reliability and airtightness. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes processes of: arranging a base layer on a frame member; arranging on the base layer a jointing material having a narrower width than the base layer; making a jointing face of a first or a second substrate face the face where the frame member is arranged; and bringing the first or the second substrate facing the face where the jointing material is arranged into contact with the jointing material, irradiating laser beams on the jointing material at least via the base layer, and joining the first or the second substrate facing the face where the jointing material is arranged, and the frame member. The base layer is made of a material easier to absorb laser beams than the jointing material, and has a wider width than the jointing material, and laser beams are irradiated in a region of a width less than the base layer.     • PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance of mechanical parts for iron making by forming a hardened and build-up layer wherein carbide particles of W, Nb, V, Ti are dispersed in a matrix. CONSTITUTION:A hardened and build-up layer is formed by dispersing carbide particles of carbide such as W, Nv, V, Ti in a matrix consisting of Fe, Ni, Co as a base in mechanical parts, such as various liners in iron works, which are made of Fe, Ni, Co having the hardened and build-up layer as a base. The unmolten lumped or spherical particles having -8-+30 mesh are used for the carbide particles, and the ratio between the carbide particles and the base part is kept at a ratio of the area of the carbide particles: the area of the base part=4-6:6-4.
